Alright, so you're heading into Southport and need somewhere to park? The Tesco Formby car park is a decent option, especially if you're planning on doing a bit of shopping anyway. It's right there at the Tesco superstore, which is technically in Formby, but it's basically Southport town centre. You can walk to Lord Street in about 10-15 minutes from there, easy peasy.

The big plus is that it's free, but only for Tesco customers while they're actually shopping. Don't try to pull a fast one and leave your car there all day while you hit the beach – they do patrol it. It can get pretty rammed on weekends, especially Saturdays, and around school holidays. Weekday mornings are usually your best bet for finding a space without circling for ages.

It's open 24/7, which is handy if you're out late. Obviously, it's just a standard supermarket car park, nothing fancy, but it does the job. It's a good option if you're just popping into town for a few bits and bobs.
