The Platinum Salon

Need a trim or a total restyle in town? The Platinum Salon on Lord Street is a proper, no-nonsense salon that's been around for a good while. They've got a solid 4.4 stars from 22 Google reviews, so people generally seem happy. It's not the cheapest place in Southport, but you get what you pay for, right?

They do everything from cuts and colours to more specialised treatments. The staff are friendly enough, and they seem to know their stuff. It's a relaxed atmosphere, not one of those places where you feel intimidated if you don't know your balayage from your babylights. I've seen a few of the ladies from my bowls club come out of there looking a million dollars, so it gets my vote.

Opening hours are pretty good too; late nights on Tuesday and Friday if you're working during the day, and open Saturdays from 8am until 4:30pm. They're closed on Sundays, like most places. Give them a ring on 01704 547722 to book, especially for those busier times. Parking on Lord Street can be a nightmare, so maybe park in one of the side streets or the town hall car park and walk over.
