About Southport Model Railway Village
Right, so you're thinking of taking the kids out? Southport Model Railway Village is a decent shout, especially if they're into trains (or even just running around!). It's got a solid 4.5 stars from over 800 reviews on Google, so it's not just me saying it's alright. It's basically a miniature world with trains chugging through it, spread across a good-sized plot of land. It's in town so easy to get to.
It's outdoors, so keep an eye on the weather โ nobody wants soggy sandwiches while watching tiny trains. They're only open seasonally, usually from Spring to Autumn, so don't rock up in December expecting a miracle. It's definitely geared towards families, keeps the little ones entertained for a good hour or two.
Give them a ring on 01704 538001 if you're unsure about opening times, especially if the weather's looking iffy. It's on the seafront, so you could combine it with an ice cream and a walk along the prom to make a proper day of it.
Just a heads up, it can get pretty busy during peak season, especially on weekends. Factor in time for parking, or better yet, hop on the train to Southport station and save yourself the hassle.
