The Hesketh Arms
About The Hesketh Arms
If you're after a solid, reliable pub in town, The Hesketh Arms is a decent shout. You know what you're getting β it's part of the Vintage Inns chain, so the menu's pretty standard, but they do it well. Think hearty meals, proper cask ales, and a beer garden that's a sun trap in summer. It gets a 4.5 rating from nearly 3,000 Google reviews, so plenty of folk seem happy enough.
It's not exactly a cutting-edge cocktail bar or anything β more of a traditional pub atmosphere, good for families and those who like a bit of history. It's in a building dating back to the 1700s, so it has a bit of character. Sometimes it can get busy and a little noisy, especially on weekends, but that's just the way it is. Plus, they welcome dogs, which is always a bonus if youβre out for a walk.
You can find The Hesketh Arms right in the centre of Southport. They're open from 11:30 AM most days, and from 9 AM on Saturdays and Sundays. Give them a ring on 01704 509548 if you need to check something.
One thing to note: parking in town can be a pain, so either get there early or be prepared to use one of the pay-and-display car parks.
