Liverpool Road through Birkdale village has a handful of cafes and casual dining options that are more walkable than The Bold. These are the options that can absorb walk-ins in a way that the smarter restaurants cannot. Go before 12:30 for lunch and before 6:30 for dinner. After those windows, expect to wait.

Bistrot Verite on Lord Street is good. The Atkinson cafe is reliable for a quick lunch. The Market on Market Street is the best option for a casual meal without a reservation.
