Right, so you’re thinking about Royal Birkdale, eh? Well, as a Churchtown lad, I can tell you it's proper legendary. It's a links course, meaning it’s right on the coast, all dunes and tricky winds. Forget manicured parkland courses; this is the real deal. They've got a stonking 4.9 rating from 42 reviews on Google, so people are clearly impressed.

It's not just any old golf club, mind. Royal Birkdale has hosted The Open a fair few times, and it's due back in 2026, so you know it is top-notch. I've not played it myself because, let's be honest, the green fees are a bit steep for my liking, but I know a few lads who have, and they all rave about it. It's definitely one for the bucket list if you're a serious golfer.
