Birkdale Retreat

Birkdale Retreat is getting rave reviews, and I can see why. It's got a perfect 5-star rating on Google, though only from a couple of reviews, so it's early days. They're on 01704 330343 if you want to give them a ring.

It's right in Birkdale, which is handy for the shops and restaurants there. Plus, you’re obviously super close to Royal Birkdale Golf Club. If you're thinking about coming to Southport for The Open in 2026 (it's on 12-19 July, mark your calendars!), this could be a great shout if you book early enough. Being in Birkdale, it's probably more suited to couples or smaller families wanting a quieter base than being right in the town centre.

I’ve not stayed myself but I've heard it's a good option if you fancy a bit of a golf break. It's not a huge place, which is part of its appeal, I reckon.
