I've not stayed myself, being local and all, but I know people who have, and they rate it. Google agrees, giving it a 4.6 out of 5 from 29 reviews, which isn't bad going.

Give them a ring on 01704 840731 if you're thinking of booking. From what I hear, it's a decent spot for families, and handy if you're into your golf. They even do afternoon tea apparently, though I can't vouch for the scones. It's not right on the beach, obviously, but a good base if you're exploring the area.

Now, heads up, if you're thinking of coming for The Open at Royal Birkdale in 2026 (12-19 July), you'll want to book WELL in advance. I mean, seriously early. This place will be rammed, as will everywhere else within a decent radius.

And one last thing: it's a campsite, so pack your wellies, even in July. You never know with the Southport weather!
