Formby Station Park & Ride
Alright, so you're thinking of using Formby Station Park & Ride? Good shout if you're nipping into Liverpool or Southport on the train. It's right next to Formby train station, obviously, on the Merseyrail Northern line. Dead easy to find. Now, the big question: is it free? Nope, you'll have to pay to park here.
It gets pretty busy, especially during peak times when everyone's commuting. I've seen it packed out a few times, so get there early to bag a spot. It's got a decent rating on Google, 4.0 out of 5 from 7 reviews, so most people seem happy enough with it. It's a car park, innit, not much to complain about really.
It's a much better option than trying to park in Liverpool or Southport itself, believe me. Save yourself the stress and the extortionate parking fees in town. Plus, the train is usually quicker anyway.
Just a heads-up: make sure you have the right change or a way to pay by card for the parking machine. It's not always the most reliable, so don't get caught out.
๐ฆ How busy does it get?
Mainly used by commuters on weekday mornings. Usually plenty of spaces at weekends.
