Kings Road car park in Formby is dead handy if you're heading to the National Trust reserve, or just fancy a wander along Formby beach. Best bit? It's completely free, which is always a bonus these days!

It can get pretty rammed, especially on sunny weekends or during school holidays. Get there early – before 11am – if you want a decent chance of bagging a space. It's not a massive car park, and trust me, circling around hoping someone leaves isn't a fun way to start your day.

It's located right at the end of Kings Road, obviously, just off the main road through Formby. From there, it’s a short walk through the pinewoods to the beach and red squirrel reserve. It's a good spot for families and dog walkers too.

Just a heads-up: the car park surface is pretty uneven in places, so watch your step, especially if you've got little ones. And remember to take all your rubbish home with you – let's keep Formby beach looking its best.
