Alright, so you're after a decent haircut or a bit of pampering in town? Lounge Hair & Beauty on Lord Street gets a solid thumbs-up from me. It's not somewhere I'd usually frequent myself, being a bloke and all, but my sister-in-law swears by the place. They seem to know their stuff, and the 5-star rating with 16 reviews on Google backs that up.

They're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which is a bit of a pain if you're after a mid-week treat. But otherwise, they're open from 9 'til 6, Wednesday through Saturday. So plenty of time to squeeze in an appointment. Give them a ring on 01704 566433 to book in.

My sister-in-law says they do everything from cuts and colours to beauty treatments. It's conveniently located right in the centre of town, so you can easily pop in after a bit of shopping.

Just a heads-up: Lord Street parking can be a nightmare, so allow yourself extra time to find a space, or use one of the car parks a bit further out.
