Lucie's Beauty Room is your go-to if you're after a proper pampering right in Southport town centre. I know a few of the ladies in my family swear by it, especially after a long day out on the golf course – apparently it’s just the ticket for those aches and pains. It's got a perfect 5.0 rating from 9 reviews online, so it’s not just my lot who rate it.

They're open late most nights, 9am to 8pm, Monday through Saturday, which is handy if you're working or just fancy a last-minute appointment. Sundays are a no-go, though; everyone needs a day off! I haven't been myself, but I've heard they do everything from nails to massages.

Word of mouth is strong around Birkdale, and that's always a good sign, isn't it? It is in the town centre so parking can be a bit of a pain, especially on a Saturday.
