Alright, so you're after a good hairdresser in Birkdale, eh? Let me tell you about Opal Hair Studio. It's up on Liverpool Road, near the shops. I've not been myself, but my sister-in-law swears by it, and she's fussy as anything, so that's saying something.
They've only got 6 reviews on Google, but they're all five-star, so that's a pretty good sign. Sometimes these smaller places are better anyway, you know? You get more personal attention, not like those big salons in town where you're just another head on a conveyor belt.

Just a heads-up, parking on Liverpool Road can be a bit of a nightmare, especially on Saturdays. Give yourself plenty of time to find a spot, or maybe park on a side street and walk.
