Alright, so Power Abs Function Gym... it's on Lord Street in town, not too far from the Atkinson. If you're serious about getting fit, it's a decent shout. They've got a good range of equipment – all the usual stuff, plus some more specialist bits. They're open seven days a week, which is handy, and the staff seem pretty knowledgeable.

I've seen a few reviews mentioning it can get busy during peak hours, especially after work. That's not a massive surprise, is it? It's not the cheapest gym in Southport, but you get what you pay for, I suppose. I wouldn't say it's luxury or anything, but it's clean and well-maintained. Parking can be a bit of a pain around Lord Street, so factor that in. Maybe cycle down if you can.
