If you're looking for a spot to get a massage or squeeze in a workout in town, Verite Fitness & Beauty on Lord Street is worth checking out. It's got a perfect 5-star rating from 32 reviews, which is always a good sign, right? They do the usual beauty treatments, plus have a decent-looking gym if you're trying to stay fit while you're visiting Southport.

They're open pretty late most weeknights, until 8pm Monday through Friday, which is handy if you're working or just prefer evening appointments. Saturdays they close up earlier, at 3pm, and they're closed on Sundays, so keep that in mind. I haven’t used their gym myself, but my sister-in-law raves about their facials.
