PR9 0 covers the seafront and the northern end of Lord Street — it's the Southport most visitors experience first. Marine Drive, the Pier (the second-longest in England at over 1,100 metres), the funfair, the boating lake, and the miniature railway all sit in this postcode. Living here means proximity to all of it, which sounds better than it sometimes feels day-to-day: summer brings noise, visitor traffic, and parking pressure on the residential streets. The housing is genuinely mixed — large Victorian properties, converted hotels, purpose-built seafront apartments, and quieter residential streets set back from the promenade. Southport College is also in this postcode. It's the most visitor-facing PR9 sector and the prices reflect location over tranquillity.
