Cheshire Lines Inn

If you're after a proper, no-frills pub in the town centre, you could do a lot worse than the Cheshire Lines Inn. It's got a solid 4.5 stars on Google from over 650 reviews, so it's clearly doing something right. It's not winning any awards for fancy decor, mind – it's a traditional boozer, plain and simple. You'll find it a short walk from Lord Street.

It's a good spot for watching the match, and it gets lively on weekends. They're open late on Friday and Saturday (until 1 AM and 12 AM respectively), but it's a bit quieter during the week, closing at 11 PM. It's a budget-friendly place, so you won't be breaking the bank. Plus, they have outdoor seating, which is great when the sun is shining (if it ever does in Southport!).
