Lings On Kings

Right, so Lings On Kings is that big Chinese place right in the middle of town. It's been there for donkeys' years, and I reckon most Sandgrounders have been at least once. It gets a solid 4.1 stars from over 450 Google reviews, so you know it's not a dive. It's definitely more of an occasion place than a quick bite, if you catch my drift.

It's a proper Beijing-style banquet kinda setup spread over two floors with a bar on each, so good for a bigger group. They do all the usual Chinese dishes – crispy duck, sweet and sour, that sort of thing. The food's decent enough, but the main draw is Ling herself, the hostess. She's a character, and you might even catch her belting out a tune! It's that kind of place. I'd say it suits couples and families alike, especially if you like a bit of atmosphere.

It’s not exactly a quiet, romantic spot, mind. It can get a bit lively, especially on a Saturday night. But if you're after a fun night out with a bit of something different, it's worth a look. Price-wise, it's mid-range – you're looking at ££, so not the cheapest but not break-the-bank expensive either.
