Mere Brow Bar & Lounge

If you're after a relaxed evening in town, Mere Brow Bar & Lounge is a decent shout. It's got a 4.4 rating with over 100 reviews, so people generally seem happy. It's not massive, which I actually prefer, makes it feel a bit cosier than some of the bigger places.

They've got a solid drinks menu and do a decent selection of bar snacks and light meals – think sharing platters and that sort of thing. It's probably better suited for couples or a chilled night out with friends rather than a full-on family meal. It's got a bit of a grown-up vibe, if you know what I mean.

It's handily located right in the town centre, so easy to get to from anywhere. They're closed on Tuesdays, and the opening hours vary a bit during the week, so it's worth checking before you head down. They open later on Fridays and Saturdays, obviously.

If you're planning on going on a Friday or Saturday night, especially, I'd definitely recommend giving them a ring on 01772 813516 and booking a table. It can get pretty busy, and you don't want to be stood around waiting.
