Milkie Bar

Alright, so if you're up near Ormskirk Road and fancy a drink, you could do worse than Milkie Bar. It gets a 4.3 out of 5 on Google from 129 reviews, so people seem pretty happy. It's not exactly a "local" local, if you get my drift – more of a cocktail and spirits place than a proper pub. It's got a decent atmosphere, can get a bit lively on weekend nights but it's usually alright.

They're open pretty much all day, every day, from 12 midday right through 'til 10pm most nights, and an hour later on Saturdays and Sundays. I wouldn't say it’s the cheapest place in Southport, but they do a good range of drinks and the staff are usually sound. I've not taken our dog in myself, but I've seen a few dogs in there on afternoon visits, so I reckon they're probably welcome.

Just a heads-up: parking can be a pain around there, especially on a Saturday. Give yourself a bit of extra time to find a spot.
