Spice of Bengal in Ainsdale is my go-to for a decent curry. It's been there for years, and it's consistently good. It's not trying to be fancy, just serves up solid Indian dishes that everyone seems to enjoy. Google reviews back that up, with a 4.4 rating from nearly 200 reviews.
The menu is pretty standard, all the usual suspects you'd expect. I usually go for a balti or something with a bit of spice, and they're always happy to adjust the heat to your liking. It's a comfortable spot for both couples and families – I often see both in there. It's reasonably priced too, I'd say about ££.
They're open every evening from 5 PM, and a bit later on Friday and Saturday (until 10:30 PM). You can give them a ring on 01704 572875 to book a table, which I'd recommend doing if you're planning on going at the weekend, especially on a Saturday night.
