Taylors Continental Beer and Wine Bar

If you're knocking about Birkdale Village and fancy a proper drink, Taylors is a solid shout. It's got a decent 4.5 stars on Google from 73 reviews, so most people seem to rate it. It's not a massive place, mind, but that keeps the atmosphere pretty cosy. It’s more of a relaxed vibe than a rowdy one, definitely not a place you'd go if you wanted a dance.

They've got a good selection of beers and wines – continental, as the name suggests, so expect some interesting bottles you won't find in your average boozer. It's a bit pricier than your regular pub, maybe a couple of quid more a pint, but worth it for something different. It's open fairly late most nights, until 11pm weekdays and 11:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

It's the kind of spot where you can actually have a conversation without shouting, which is a win in my book. It gets lively enough on a weekend without being rammed. It's not really a sports bar - more of a place to catch up with mates or take your other half.
