The Sausage & Cider Festival — April
Bavarian-inspired food and drink festival across a Saturday in April. Bratwurst, artisan ciders, oompah bands, folk dancers. Afternoon session (1–5pm) is better for families; evening session (5–10pm) is livelier. Tickets required — two sessions sold separately.

Victoria Park's most famous resident event. Four days of horticultural excellence in late August, attended by tens of thousands. The 2026 show has The Lakeside Reset as a new centrepiece, celebrity appearances, and early bird tickets from £23.

Two evenings of pyrotechnic competition choreographed to music. Tickets £12. One of the most underrated events in the North West, though it's growing in reputation. No gate sales — book in advance.

17 nights of live comedy in a luxury heated marquee — the marquee is installed in Victoria Park specifically for the festival. Entrance via the Esplanade, PR8 1RX. First acts confirmed for 2026 include Henning Wehn and Gary Delaney.

Outside event days, Victoria Park is a well-maintained public park with formal gardens, a Victorian bandstand, and plenty of open space. Free to enter year-round. If you're visiting Southport for any of these events, arrive early — the park is a good place to spend time before the gates open.
