Chocolate Shop

If you're serious about chocolate, and I mean *serious*, you need to swing by Chocolate Shop in town. They're pulling down a solid 4.8 stars on Google from 117 reviews, so it's not just me saying it's good. It's a proper little cafe, not just a shop, so you can actually sit down with a coffee and some of their handmade stuff.

They do a mean mocha, and the cakes are always fresh. It's ideal if the weather's turned and you need somewhere to kill an hour or two. It's not massive, mind, so might feel a bit cramped if it's really hammering it down outside and everyone's had the same idea. I've taken the dog in a couple of times, no problem.

It's not the cheapest place in Southport, but you get what you pay for, and the quality's there. They're closed Mondays and Sundays, and only open 10 'til 4 Tuesday to Saturday, so don't rock up expecting a sugar fix outside those times. Worth knowing: they can get busy on Saturdays, especially near lunchtime, so maybe aim for mid-morning if you want a guaranteed seat.
