Dukes Wine Bar & Bistro

If you're up Ainsdale way and fancy a bite, Dukes is a solid shout. It's got a 4.4 rating from over 350 reviews on Google, so they must be doing something right. It's not dirt cheap, but not bank-breaking either – I'd say it's a decent middle-ground option.

They do a bit of everything, really. It's a cafe, but it turns into more of a wine bar vibe later on. I've popped in for a quick coffee and a piece of cake (they usually have a good selection) and I've also had a proper sit-down lunch there. It's flexible like that. They're open pretty much every day except Wednesdays, and the hours are long, so you can usually find a time that suits.

It's a pretty cosy spot, so it's not a bad place to be if the Southport weather is doing its thing (i.e. raining). It’s not massive inside though, so it can get busy during peak times.

Give them a ring on 01704 809650 if you're thinking of going for a meal, especially on a weekend. Might be worth booking to avoid disappointment.
