Rose Tree Tea Room

If you're after a proper cuppa and a slice of cake in town, The Rose Tree Tea Room is a decent shout. It's got a cracking 4.8 stars from 78 Google reviews, so they must be doing something right. It's not massive inside, so it’s better for a sit-down than grabbing something on the go.

They do a good afternoon tea if you’re feeling fancy, but honestly, I usually just pop in for a coffee to get out of the rain. It's the kind of place where you can actually hear yourself think, which is a bonus in the middle of town. They've got all the usual cafe bits and bobs – sandwiches, scones, that sort of thing.

It's closed on Mondays and Sundays which is a bit of a pain, but Tuesday to Saturday it's open 10 'til 4. Give them a ring on 01704 894578 if you want to check how busy they are, especially if you’re thinking of afternoon tea – probably best to book.
