The Engine Room

Right, so The Engine Room. It's a cafe right in the middle of town. It's got a perfect 5-star rating on Google from 9 reviews, which is a pretty good sign. I've not been myself *yet*, but I've heard from a few folks that it's the real deal for coffee and cake. You know, *proper* coffee, not that instant rubbish some places try to fob you off with.

From what I gather, it's not a massive place, so probably better for a quick pit stop than settling in for hours. Still, ideal if you're caught in a downpour doing your shopping and fancy a bit of a treat. Somewhere to recharge the batteries, you know? I believe it's linked to the Arcade Project, so it's probably got a bit of an artsy vibe to it, if that's your thing.

I can't say for sure about the prices, but let's just say it's probably not the cheapest cuppa in town, but you get what you pay for. They've got a website (arcade-project.com) if you want to have a nosey before you head down.

Worth checking their opening hours before you set off – town centre parking can be a nightmare, so give yourself plenty of time to find a space, especially on a Saturday.
