Right, so you're thinking of popping into The kitchen in town. I'll be straight with you: its Google rating is currently 1.0 stars out of 5, based on a single review. Now, I haven't been myself, so I can't say for sure, but that's what the numbers say. It might be worth checking recent reviews elsewhere before heading over.

They're open early every day, from 7am most weekdays, so could be handy for a quick coffee if you're heading to work. They also stay open late on Fridays and Saturdays, until 11pm, which is unusual for a cafe in Southport. Could be a decent option if you're after a late bite but don't fancy a full restaurant. I can't confirm if they do proper barista-style coffee or if it's more of an instant job, mind.

I don't know if they have much seating, so it might be better for a quick pit stop than a long, relaxing afternoon, especially if it's raining. I can't find much about what they actually serve, but most cafes in Southport do a decent selection of cakes and sandwiches.
