Bifolds, enclosed garden. Southport character home

Right, if you're looking for a place to stay in Southport, I reckon you could do worse than Bifolds. It's a decent spot right in the town centre, so you're not stuck out in the sticks. I like that it has an enclosed garden – good if you've got kids running riot or just fancy a bit of peace and quiet away from Lord Street.

It's got that proper Southport character, not one of these soulless modern boxes they keep building. I don’t know the exact rating, but it's got loads of good reviews online. Plus, being in the town centre, you're close to everything. Word of warning, though: town centre parking can be a pain, especially on weekends. Give them a ring on the number online to check what the deal is with parking.

If you're a golfer, especially with The Open at Royal Birkdale in July 2026, this could be a good base. It has golf tags, so I reckon they know what they're doing with golfers. It's probably a better shout for couples or smaller families, I wouldn't say it's geared up for big groups of kids.

Worth checking their website for the latest opening hours, as these things change. And yeah, give them a ring about parking – that's always a good shout in Southport.
