Right, so you're looking for somewhere to kip in town? Birkdale Boutique Apartment gets a solid 7.9 rating from over 100 reviews on Booking.com, so it can't be half bad. I've not stayed myself, obviously, but it looks decent online. It's technically in Southport town centre, but it's right on the edge of Birkdale, so you get the best of both worlds.

It's a decent shout if you're coming to Southport on a budget. I wouldn't say it's luxury, like The Vincent, but it's clean and gets good feedback. Seems geared more towards couples or maybe a small family rather than big groups wanting to party, if you catch my drift. Give them a ring on the number listed online to check availability.

Obviously, Royal Birkdale is just up the road, so if you're planning on coming for The Open in 2026, you'll want to book well in advance. You'll pay through the nose, mind, everywhere does then!

Worth noting, it's an apartment, so there's no on-site parking. You'll need to find a spot on the street or use one of the local car parks. Check parking restrictions on the street, those traffic wardens are keen.
