If you’re looking for a campsite near Southport, Century House Campsite in Scarisbrick is a good shout. It’s not slap-bang in the town centre, but it's a decent spot if you want to be close to the countryside, and handy enough for nipping into Southport.

They seem well set up for families, and I reckon it'd be a good base if you're planning a bit of cycling or walking. It’s not a massive site, so it’s usually fairly quiet. They're open every day, but hours vary a little – 9am to 7pm most weekdays, a bit later opening on weekends, and earlier closing on Saturdays and Sundays.
