Alright, so you're coming to Southport and need a place to crash? The Waterfront Suite is right in the thick of things, down on the Promenade. Location-wise, you can't beat it for the town centre. Booking.com gives it a decent 7.9 based on over 150 reviews, so it’s not just me saying it’s alright.

It’s a hotel that seems to suit couples or maybe small families. It’s worth keeping in mind if you're coming for The Open at Birkdale in 2026, it’s a pretty good spot to base yourself. It's handy for the train station too, so you can get to the course without too much messing about.

I haven't stayed there myself, but I've walked past it a million times. It looks tidy enough from the outside. You can find them on Booking.com if you want to see the rooms. I can’t say if it’s luxury, but it's a solid option.

One thing to remember: parking in that area can be a pain, especially in summer. Check if they have on-site parking, or you might be circling for ages.
