Ainsdale Beach Parking Area
Right, so you're heading to Ainsdale Beach? Smart move, it's usually a bit less packed than Southport beach itself. This is the main car park โ it's pay-and-display, so bring some change or download one of those parking apps before you go. It's right on the beach, so you literally just park up and you're on the sand. Perfect for lugging all the kids' stuff.
Just a heads-up, though: on sunny weekends in July and August, this place is rammed. Seriously, get there before 10am if you want a spot. Later than that and you'll be queuing down the road or, worse, driving round in circles like a loon. During the week, or any other time of year really, it's usually fine.
Ainsdale Beach is great, especially if you like a bit more space. The dunes are fantastic for exploring, and it's a really nice stretch of coastline. Plus, you're not far from Ainsdale village if you fancy a chippy or an ice cream afterwards.
One last thing: check the tide times before you go. At high tide, the beach shrinks quite a bit, so you'll want to plan your trip accordingly. You can find tide tables online easily enough.
๐ฆ How busy does it get?
Quieter than the Southport seafront but still fills up on good summer days. Informal overflow available on the approach road.
