Derby Road

Alright mate, Terry here. If you're heading down to Formby beach, you'll probably be needing to park the car. Derby Road car park is your best bet, and the best part? Totally free. Can't argue with that, can you? It's located right in the south of Formby, postcode L37, so stick that in your sat nav.

Now, before you get too excited, it does get pretty rammed, especially on sunny weekends or during school holidays. You might have to circle a bit or wait for someone to leave. It's not huge, but it's better than trying to find a space on the road, trust me. Plus, it's a decent walk to the beach from here, maybe 15-20 minutes, so bear that in mind if you've got little ones or lots of gear.

It's basically just a big open space, nothing fancy - no toilets or anything like that. But hey, it's free parking near Formby beach, so I'm not complaining. I've been using it for years, never had any trouble. It's open 24/7 too.

Just a heads up: get there early if you want a guaranteed spot, and maybe bring a flask of tea for the walk!
