Banks Village Chippy

Right, so if you're heading out towards Banks, and you fancy some decent fish and chips, Banks Village Chippy is well worth a shout. It gets a solid 4.4 stars on Google from over 120 reviews, so you know it's not just me saying it's alright. It's a proper local chippy, nothing fancy, but they do the basics really well.

They're closed Mondays and Sundays, and only open for a couple of hours at lunchtime Tuesday to Friday, then again in the evenings. Saturday they just do evenings. It's a traditional chippy, so expect all the usual suspects – fish, chips, sausages, pies, mushy peas. No frills, just good, honest grub. You can eat in, but most folk get a takeaway.

Word of warning: it gets pretty busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so you might want to think about ringing ahead to place your order, especially if you're feeding the five thousand.
