Barons Bar

If you're after a no-frills pint right on Lord Street, Barons Bar is your place. It's attached to the Scarisbrick Hotel, and it's open noon til 11pm every day. Don’t expect anything fancy, but if you just want a cheap drink in the middle of town, it does the job. It gets a 3.7 rating based on 54 Google reviews, so manage your expectations.

It's more of a hotel bar than a proper local pub, but it's usually got a bit of a buzz about it, especially on weekends. I wouldn’t call it a sports bar, but they usually have a telly on with the football. It’s definitely a budget option, so if you're watching your pennies, it's a decent shout.

The atmosphere is pretty standard – nothing special, but not terrible either. It's a good spot if you're already staying at the Scarisbrick or just need a quick pit stop while shopping. I wouldn't bring the dog, though.
