Botanic Road Eatery

If you're after a proper good meal out in town, Botanic Road Eatery is a cracking choice. It's got a solid 4.7 stars from over 500 Google reviews, which is always a good sign. They do proper portions that won't leave you hungry, and the prices are mid-range – not dirt cheap, but not gonna break the bank either.

They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays, which is a bit of a pain, but open from 4pm Weds & Thurs, and from noon Friday through Sunday. Sunday they shut up shop a bit earlier at 9pm. I reckon it's a decent spot for both families and couples. It's got a nice, relaxed vibe, without being too loud or too quiet.

I'd say the food is modern British, with a bit of everything on the menu. They've got some tasty veggie options too, which is always a bonus. It's not a massive place, so probably best to ring ahead on 01704 214141, especially if you're planning on going on a Friday or Saturday night.

Worth knowing: parking around there can be a right pain, so give yourself a bit of extra time to find a spot.
