About lakeside bar-leisure lakes
Alright, so Lakeside Bar at Leisure Lakes... it's alright. I wouldn't rave about it, but if you're already out that way, it's a decent shout. Four and a half stars on Google from 4 reviews sounds about right. It's got a bit of a holiday park vibe, you know? Casual, not trying too hard. Definitely more of a "pint after a walk" kinda place than a cocktail bar.
It's got outdoor seating which is a big plus in the summer, especially with the lake right there. Nice enough view, even if it's not exactly Formby beach. And they're dog-friendly, which is always a winner for me since I walk Bruce around there. It's not a proper local pub, mind you, more of a leisure bar, so don't expect a roaring fire and a quiz night.
It's technically Southport town centre, but you're a good drive out. It's one of those places that's good for what it is. Not fancy, not trying to be, but perfectly acceptable for a quick drink.
Worth checking the opening hours before you head out, especially if it's not peak season. And if you're driving, there's plenty of parking around Leisure Lakes itself.
