Fancy a Chinese in town? New Spring Deer on Corporation Street is alright if you're in that part of Southport. It's been there for ages, and you know what you're getting – your usual Cantonese dishes, nothing too wild. Good for a straightforward, reliable meal.

It's got a 3.8 rating on Google from 28 reviews, so don't expect anything mind-blowing, but it's decent enough. I reckon it's better for couples or a small group of mates than a big family thing, just my opinion. The atmosphere is what it is, a standard local Chinese restaurant.

They're only open in the evenings from 4:30pm, and closed on Tuesdays, so don’t get caught out. They're dead easy to find on Corporation Street. Phone ahead on 01704 546279, especially on a Friday or Saturday, as they do fill up.
