Alright, so you're thinking about getting a boat? Aintree Boat Company, down in Ainsdale, is probably your best bet around here. They've been doing it for years, and they've got a decent rep—4.4 stars from 28 reviews ain't bad, right? They're not exactly next to the sea, mind, but they’re well stocked and the staff seem to know their stuff.

They are on the pricier side, so don't expect a bargain basement deal. You’re paying for the name and the service, which, to be fair, is usually pretty good. I popped in last year to get some bits for my brother-in-law's little fishing boat, and they were helpful enough, even though I clearly didn't know my bow from my stern!

Opening hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Saturdays are 9am to 1pm, and they're closed on Sundays. Give them a ring on 01704 576326 if you’re planning on going down; might be worth checking they have what you need in stock before you head out.
