Avos Watersports Den

If you're daft about watersports, Avos Watersports Den is the place to go in Southport town centre. It's got a 25-acre lake where you can try jet skiing or have a go at sailing. I've seen some right plonkers out there, so don't worry if you're a beginner! They also have a shop selling all the gear you could need, plus a cafe for a brew afterwards.

It's got a decent 4.7 stars on Google from over a hundred reviews, so people seem pretty happy with it. I've heard the cafe is nothing special, mind you, but it's handy to have somewhere to warm up after being on the water.

It's open every day from 10 'til 5, so plenty of time to get down there. Give them a ring on 01772 811866 if you want to book anything in advance, especially if you're going as a group.

Just a heads-up, it can get pretty busy on weekends, especially in the summer holidays, so get there early to avoid the queues.
