Right, so if you’re kitting out a new place or just fancy a rummage, the British Heart Foundation Home Store on Lord Street is worth a look. It’s got a decent 3.9 stars from 55 Google reviews, so people seem generally happy. You’ll find furniture, electricals, and all sorts of bits and bobs. It's definitely on the budget end of the scale, so don't expect top-end stuff, but there are bargains to be had.

I’ve picked up a few things there myself over the years – a lamp, some kitchenware – always good to give things a second life, isn't it?
