Chocolate Whirled

If you've got a sweet tooth, Chocolate Whirled in town centre is worth a look. It's not massive, but they pack a lot of chocolate into the place. The Google reviews are pretty solid – 4.9 stars from nearly 200 people. They do proper Belgian chocolates, plus all sorts of novelty stuff. Good for gifts if you need something quick, or just a treat for yourself.

It's run by a local woman who really knows her stuff. She's always happy to let you try a sample, and she can tell you all about where the chocolate comes from and how it's made. It's not the cheapest place, mind you – this is quality chocolate, so expect to pay a bit more than you would at, say, WHSmith. But for something special, it's worth it.

Opening hours are a bit odd – they're closed Mondays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and only open 10am-4pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. So don’t just rock up any day expecting them to be open. Best to check their website or give them a ring on 07570 699803 before you head over if you're making a special trip.
