Right, so you're after a decent jeweller in Southport, eh? I reckon JayBee Jewellery on Ormskirk Road is worth a look. They've got a solid 4.8-star rating from 38 reviews, which is a pretty good sign. It's not bang in the town centre, it's on the main road just by the traffic lights, so easy to find.

They do all the usual stuff – rings, necklaces, bracelets – and I’ve heard they're good for repairs and alterations too. My mate Sarah got her engagement ring resized there and was well chuffed with the job. I think they specialise in bespoke pieces if you want something really special, but that'll obviously cost you a bit more.

Opening hours are a bit limited, they're not open Sundays or Mondays, and close at 4pm most days. Phone them on 07889 181571 if you're travelling from afar to check they're open, especially around bank holidays. There's some on-street parking, but it can get busy, so allow a bit of extra time to find a space.
