Jewellery Workshop

If you're after something a bit different than the usual high street shops, Jewellery Workshop on Lord Street is worth a look. They're not just selling stuff; they actually make a lot of the jewellery right there. I popped in last week to get a watch battery replaced and ended up chatting with the owner for ages – proper sound bloke.

They've got a good range of earrings, necklaces, and rings, mostly silver and gold. Prices seem fair, especially considering it's all handmade. According to Google, they’re sitting at a 4.1-star rating from 40 reviews, so people seem generally happy.

Opening hours are pretty consistent, 9 'til 4, Monday through Saturday, so you should be able to find a time that suits. Closed on Sundays, mind. You can always give them a ring on 01704 500057 if you're after something specific or want to check if they're running any workshops.

Parking on Lord Street can be a pain, so either use one of the side streets or the car park near Marks & Spencer.
