Market Street
About Market Street
Right, so Market Street. It's your main drag for shopping in Southport town centre, dead easy to find. If you're after your usual High Street shops β Boots, WHSmith, that sort of thing β you'll find them here. Plus a few banks and building societies if you need cash or whatever. Don't expect anything too fancy, mind, it's more everyday stuff than designer labels.
It gets a solid 3.8 stars from over 200 reviews online, so people generally find what they need. It's pedestrianised, which is good, but can get proper crowded on a Saturday. Youβll also find a few of those chugger charity muggers around, so just be ready to politely say no. Itβs open pretty much all day, every day, with most shops doing 9am to 5:30pm-ish. Give or take.
You can't miss it, really. It runs right from Lord Street up towards Chapel Street. Loads of buses stop nearby and it's only a 10-minute walk from Southport train station, so getting there isn't a problem. There are a few multi-storey car parks nearby if you're driving, but they can get pricey, especially on weekends.
Best to check individual shop opening times online before you head out, just in case. Some of the smaller places might have different hours.
