Primark

Right, if you're after a bargain, you can't really go wrong with Primark in Southport town centre. It's got a decent Google rating of 4.1 from over 1,500 reviews, so people generally seem happy enough. You'll find it on Chapel Street, can't miss it.

It's your standard Primark, really. Clothes for the whole family, accessories, plus bits and bobs for your house. Don't expect top quality, but for the price, it's hard to complain. Good for basics, holiday clothes, that kind of thing. Just be prepared to rummage a bit; it can get pretty busy and things end up all over the place.

Opening hours are pretty consistent through the week: 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday's a bit shorter, 10:30am to 4:30pm. They have a phone number if you need to check anything – 01704 539629. You can also find them online.

Word to the wise: Saturdays are usually packed, so if you can, try to go during the week for a slightly less chaotic experience.
