Shaws Jewellery Workshop

If you're after something special – not just another chain store piece – have a look at Shaws Jewellery Workshop on Lord Street. They're open six days a week (closed Sundays) from 9:30 to 5, so plenty of time to pop in. They aren’t the cheapest, obviously, but you get what you pay for.

Shaws does repairs, custom designs, and all that jazz. My mate got his engagement ring made there and his missus loved it. They seem to know their stuff, and the 4.9 rating from 46 Google reviews backs that up. It’s a proper family business, not some fly-by-night thing.

You'll find a good selection of rings, necklaces, the usual, but they seem to specialise in bespoke work. If you have something specific in mind, give them a ring on 01704 631835 to see if they can help.

Lord Street parking can be a pain, so give yourself extra time to find a spot, or use one of the bigger car parks further down.
