The Lions Shop

Looking for something a bit different? The Lions Shop in Ainsdale is worth a look if you're after scouting and outdoor gear. It's been around for years and it's not your typical high street shop, that's for sure. More of an Aladdin's Cave, really. They've got everything from camping equipment to uniforms for the kids' scout groups.

It's a proper family-run business, and the staff are always helpful, even if it’s just pointing you in the right direction. Don’t expect a massive, shiny retail experience – it's got character! The Google reviews are pretty solid, 4.3 stars from 12 reviews, so people seem generally happy with it.

They're open weekdays, but closed Saturdays and Sundays, which is a bit of a pain if you work during the week. Hours are generally 10am to 4:30pm, except for Friday when they close a bit earlier at 4pm. Parking can be a bit tight on Station Road, so allow a bit of extra time to find a spot, especially during school pick-up times.
