The Pet Hut

Right, if you're after pet supplies in Southport town centre without breaking the bank, give The Pet Hut a look. It's got a decent 4.6 stars on Google from 10 reviews, so other folks seem happy enough. It's basically the pet section within Poundstretcher, so think affordable rather than fancy. They stock the basics: food, toys, leads, that sort of thing.

Don't go expecting a massive selection, mind. It's not a specialist place. But if you need dog food, cat litter, or a cheap squeaky toy and you're already in town, it's handy. I picked up a decent lead for our spaniel there last year, and it's still going strong.

Opening hours are pretty standard for Southport: 9:30 'til 5 Monday to Friday, a slightly later start on Saturday at 10, and closed on Sundays. It's located inside Poundstretcher, so you can't miss it. And given it's Poundstretcher, the price range is definitely on the budget end of things.

One thing to note: parking in town can be a pain, especially on Saturdays. You're best off using one of the car parks and walking, as street parking is limited.
